Summer temperatures likely normal or higher in most of Japan

Summer temperatures in most regions of Japan are likely to be normal or higher than the average year, according to the June- August forecast by the Japan Meteorological Agency released Wednesday. While there are concerns about power shortages during the summer in the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami which damaged some nuclear power plants in northeastern Japan, the agency also warned of rainfall in disaster-hit areas.
